Family Holiday Oman

This super friendly sultanate is so easy to reach and offers an extraordinary holiday experience. Did you know that you can very easily drive around here, and that you come across rugged mountains, empty deserts, miles and miles of beach and intriguing cities with abandoned forts?  Lots of adventure is awaiting  you in Oman!

The mom says
× Oman is such an eye-opener as a holiday destination. The area around Muscat is just divine if you are looking for a short family beach break with a lot of diversity. Explore the city, take a boat-tour and spot dolphins. Or just enjoy life on the beach. Perfect.
× I always love surprisingly diverse holiday destinations. When I traveled through Oman I was blown away by the landscape and the endless possibilities. We camped in the desert, hiked and swam ourselves through wadi’s (oases) and jumped in sinkholes. Wow! For sure kids love these kind of activities.
× The Sultan of Oman is very liberal and when you traveling here you notice that. This is not a standard Middle-Eastern country; women are driving cars, are working and don’t have to wear their headscarf if they don’t want to. Other religions are tolerated and can be practised. All of this, and the fact that education is available to everyone makes for lots of encounters with very friendly people, who all speak a fair bit of English.

The dad says
× Take me here! I haven’t explored Oman yet but surely it’s high on my list.

Six Senses Zighy Bay is situated in the north of Oman and very easily accessible when flying into Dubai. Go here with slightly older children as they will enjoy the villa with own private pool ,the al-fresco beach cinema, the adventurous activities you can undertake in the craggy mountains such as canyoning, paragliding, hiking and swimming in the wadi’s. While mum is having a massage in the superluxe Six Senses Spa, dad is out on a mountainbike exploring the area with the kids. Now that sounds like a plan right?

♥  My most special experience in Oman were the stays with Hud Hud. Hud Hud is a small organisation creating unforgettable journeys throughout Oman. They pitch their sublime tents in any location you want to (one of a kind itineraries) but also offer fixed journeys throughout Oman. These exclusive temporary settlements are reminiscent of a traditional, luxurious Arabian campsite and will really blow you away. This is definitely the most exclusive and special way to discover Oman. Don’t worry about anything, Hud Hud covers everything; from meals to drinks to activities… and they go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable.
